Janome Horizon 7700 Automatic Stitch Plate Question

Quick question for all you Horizon 7700 owners. Do any of you remember what the remedy was for the issue of the breaking spring on the automatic stitch plate when the machines first came out in June of 2010? I picked up my machine in September of 2010 and never really used the automatic stitch plate.

Well I decided this weekend to use it and of course, the spring broke and the underneath mechanism didn't return to it's original spot after cancelling out the single stitch to do other stuff. Well when the needle went down it hit the mechanism and bent it all up and threw the timing all off on the machine.

Does anyone know if this is a warranty issue based on when the machine was made, because I know at some point they replaced all the crappy springs with a heavier one and the problem was solved? I've had the machine for over a year and a half and the whole underside of the needleplate needs to be replaced and the timing fixed on the machine.

Any help you can give me would be awesome.

Thanks

Can't help you as my APC has worked just fine. But I'm sorry that you've had this trouble. What a bummer.

Call your dealer. I would think if that situation has already been remedied for some, it should be remedied for all...make sense?

Well, I found out that there is only a one year warranty on the needleplate. So a new one has to be ordered which won't be under warranty and is in the $45 range. Plus a tuneup and correct the timing that's all out ofwhack and this is going to run me about $200 when all is said and done.
