Janome Horizon Memory Craft 8900QCP

Has everything I want plus a lot I don't care if I have or not. LOL No other machine I have looked at has all that I really want. Anyone out there have one? What are the Pro's and Con's for you, would you recommend it to your best friend?

I have the 8200 which is the same machine but with only 150 fancy stitches. Didn't get the 8900 because I wouldn't use the extra stitches. That being said it is a great machine. It does free motion like a dream and there are 3 different type of free motion feet that come standard. It has a beautiful straight stitch. I don't see any advantage to the 9mm but again I don't do much with the decorative stitches.
The only negative thing for me is the knee controller. It is too far to the side so I put a pool noodle on it to help but I can't seem to get the hang of it but will keep trying.
I use large cones so did purchase the unit that fits on the machine to hold them. Works Great.
I don't think you will be disappointed.

i have the 8900 and love it! :)
i not only recommended it to a friend, i talked her into buying one for herself. LOL

i'm sure you'd be happy with the 8200.
i would recommend you compare prices between the two models first, though, because i don't think the 8200 comes with the extension table in the box. if you plan to do any of your own quilting, that will make a big difference.
if you'd save money buying the 8200 and table separately then i'd say that's the way to go.

I have owned the 6600, 7700, and now the 8900. The big advantages I see in the 8900 are the snap off needle plate and snap on feet for acufeed (STD, 1/4 inch, open). These are a big deal for me. I frequently change the plate from single hole to wide, I change out my bobbin case when I FMQ, I take advantage of the 1/4 foot because I like how the feed dogs hit the edge. I like the "one touch" button settings.

I have the 8900 and it is the ultimate workhorse. You'll love it.

I have the 8900 and I have recommended it many times. Yes it has more stitches than I use, but I may eventually get around to them all. It has everything a quilter could want. I have never regretted buying it, and it is my first Janome. It is a heavy sturdy machine and makes a beautiful stitch. I bought a couple of extra feet to make quilting a little easier for me. I got the open toe accufeed foot and the 1/4 " accufeed foot. I use that foot for piecing too. It feeds through so nicely.

I love my 8900! It is easier to FMQ than the 6600 and the 7700,smoother running, and doesn't heat up when I sew fast. The tension is easy to set, etc, etc. It may seem like too much machine, but you'll grow into it. I use a lot of the stitches I didn't think I would.
