I'm anxious to see the Horizon as I love my 6500 but like the free arm, auto adjust plate and the auto feed features of the Horizon in particular. It seems to be available in the UK...anyone out there know if there is any chance they did a bobbin thread up feature. Some of the machines have it and would love to not have to bring it up or deal with the bird's nest if I don't.

I don't know about that but our LQS said it will be available May 1. It also has an 11-1/2 inch throat. Don't know much more yet.

Full details are available on the Janome, Canada website:

It looks like it's going to be another big seller for Janome.

Looks like a nice machine. I'll be at the Machine Quilting Expo next weekend, I wonder if they'll have one there.
|
I want one!! :)

I am curious as to what the cost will be. It looks great!

Thank You Katrine. It is more affordable than a Bernina.
|
I am still trying to find out how much it will be in Canadian or US $$
|
I got an email from a LQS for the launch party on May 1st! I'm planning on going to go to see what it looks like and the price!
|
I found out from my local quilt shop today that the Janome Horizon will list at $3400 Canadian dollars.

I was going to go to the dealer on May 1, but i have to photograph a wedding. I wonder if they will change their date?? do you think it would be rude to ask?? LMAO
I woke up this morning and told my husband he has a problem. this is no joke, I dreamt about the new machine! Needless to say I woke up happy. |
I can't wait to see it. The owner of the LQS said she would call me when it comes in 8^)

I've been wanting a new BL Espire, but that 11" harp is really appealing!

Hi Guys,
DH has told me tonight that if I really need one of these then I should buy it! I have to have some more info though before I commit all those ££££££, Hugs Caroline |
Thanks for the price info! I just received my announcement email today about the Horizon.
It looks like a great machine. My 6500 is going strong and does a good job. But I could always consider another machine. I will be eagerly waiting to see what all the first time customers say about it. Cindy in Seattle |
Hi All, was at a demo on Saturday and it is everything and more. It runs very quiet. It has a storage area on top which is nice. My old singer 6268 has that feature. It has dual led lights under the harp which is enormous and I think a led light right in the needle area. the needle threader locks down so you can thread the needle without it popping back up,after placing the thread in proper places you then release it and "Voila" it's threaded. There are markings on both sides of the needle plate and on the right side the markings extend onto the bed of the machine. You can place a large dinner plate w/utensils on the bed it is so long. There is a computerized display and there is now a rotary knob that you can use to scroll thru the blocks of stitches if you don't want to use the touch screen. There isn't a separate bobbin winder motor. I was told the msrp is $3000 and can be discounted for $2498. I found out too late today that there was a special that ended today for $1999. There are some other features, cut thread, The needleplate has a straight stitch hole as well as a slot so you don't have to change the needlplate when you specifically need one. I can't remember anything else except to say that I want one! Anne
