Janome MC9000 Light Bulb

I'm trying to find where I can purchase a light bulb or the light harness for my Janome MC9000. The local dealer is of no help. When I called months ago, he told me I had to get the entire light harness, and he "may" or "may not" be able to get it because my sewing machine is obsolete. He indicated that it would come from Japan, and most likely take about 3 months. I asked him to please order it for me. It has been 8 months and no light harness yet.

Does anyone have an idea where I can purchase it? I've been searching online, to no avail.

can you just strap on or super glue on a halagon light from harbor freight or home depot?
They truly are not supporting the 9000 any more in any way. I'm sorry because mine was the love of my sewing life. I was heartbroken when I couldn't get the 2nd motherboard. That was the first time I really realized these kind of machines were not forever. No more than a computer bought in 1992 would be.

The one I have on my 404 is called a barbeque light and is adjustable. Unfortunately the 404's had aluminum bodies, that is what makes them so good for classes ;) So I'm trying different mickey mouse ways to attach it. I may end up gluing a little steel plate on...or use one of those command strips?

If you can't find one, try some LED lights. These are great!

Yuck!

Maybe try another dealer? I'm very fond of my Janome dealer - they aren't local to you so I don't know what rules may apply in trying to get parts sent to you by a dealer in another "territory"....but if you'd like to call them I'd be happy to send you their contact info. CA isn't TOO far away...

ahh... I meant LED, not halogen

Try Sewing Parts Online. I got a light bulb for my MC9000 there. Do not get the expensive LED light ($30)--you want the cheaper version. ($12) Prices when i purchased a couple years ago. I tried one of those glue on lights but it cast a shadow that I didn't like while sewing. So finally found Sewing Parts Online.

Two years I dropped my Janome Mc6500P while moving it. Yes, a part broke off and it messed up the internal workings. To make a long story short it took over 4 months to get a replacement SCREW from Japan because none of the USA dealers had one. I love these machines, but the dealers and repair men are lacking.
