Does anyone have the Janome memory craft 11000 and does it work as well as Marie Osmand says it does. I can't find the price of it either.
I love sewing the tops together, but my quilting is something else.
I have 3 baby quilts started and havn't finished them, because I don't think my quilting is very good.

I have a Janome 11000(SE), it works great. The 11000 is a Embroidery machine and it has the ability to quilt, but I have not used that feature, yet. I just upgraded it to a SE (the quilting ability) and it does have a learning curve. So for now I use my Janome 6500 to do my quilting.

Quilting your quilts can be done on (almost) any machine. The KEY is practice, practice and then practice some more. I have been quilting since '03 and am just now feeling comfortable with my quilting abilities. AND it's still not prefect. What I did was to sandwich together some scrap fabrics. Friends find out your a quilter and they insist on giving you fabrics that you wouldn't really use in a quilt, well that's what I use to practice, practice... I still 'warm up' on those scrap sandwich's.

If your checking about pricing on line you will not find it. And you won't get it over the phone, either. My local dealer said that Janome doesn't allow pricing that way. You will need to visit a dealer in your area. I will admit that mine had a nice sale going when I purchased mine. BUT, to conveniece hubby that I needed it, I was my b-day, anniversary, and Xmas present for a few years. :wink:

Be careful buying a Janome on ebay. Make sure your Janome dealer will help you. My dealer gives free lessons and help to us who have bought from her but charge for those who bought elsewhere.
I love my Janome machines but they are pricy. My husband bought it as a gift. i wish he had shopped around more.
I know Kenmore sells Janome under their name but I dont know if they give lessons .

I have the Janome 11K. I love it, had one problem after a few months, but they fixed it right up. I use it mostly for embroidering. Do my regular sewing on the Janome 1600P. I too have not used the quilting part of the 11K, just having too much fun with the embroidery, so quilt on my 1600P which I call "The Beast". Because it is such a work horse.

Mine was on a terrific sale also when I bought it. It's not quite paid off yet, but figure at my age it was a good thing. I used my Janome 9000 for 13 years, so I was due to get the new one. :)

Zennia, I have a Sears Kenmore sewing machine. Are all the Kenmores Janome? How do I find out if mine is a Jenomi but called Kenmore? Any ideas? It is a Kenmore Elite model 19365 Any information you can give me would help. I'd read about machines having the 'needle down' feature and wishd mine had that..... Then just the other day, I pushed a button and discovered mine did! :) Guess I need to get my book out and read it. thanks for your help. Janis

YES. it's definitely a very expensive machine. however, i shopped around for more than a year and kept coming back to the 11000. it is the least expensive i found among machines that have the features this machine has. there are only 2 or 3 that offer any feature the 11000 doesn't, and they are all thousands more.

i have used the quilting embroidery. it takes practice, so i have a looong way to go before i can take full advantage of it. it has saved me tons of time, though. just a hint ... it works best on the lowest loft batting. working with a batting the weight of warm & natural can be a bit of a struggle.

i don't know what they're charging for it this year, but Moyes Sewing Center, the dealer in Savannah, GA had a great price on it last year. i don't know whether he'll ship or requires you to come in person.

I have had my Janome 10001 for about three years and really like it. My Janome 9000 was 13 yrs old (like someone else said about theres) and my DH said I needed a new one. Yes, they are pricey, so if you just want to quilt and sew with out the embroidery feature Janome has several other nice models which are less expensive. Go to a dealer and try them out. You will be surprised at all the features they have. Good Luck. Marge

I just bought one in March and I got it for almost half price. The place I bought it at showed me the identical machine--only difference was the Marie Osmund on it and the plate behind the buttons. The other one sold for $1499 and the Marie Osmond one for $699. They are identical in features, but he said for some reason people weren't buying the Marie Osmund one so they really had to lower the prices. I love mine!

I got a used Bernina recently to do FMQ and refuse to give up my Memory Craft 9000! Good for you ladies that got newer models, I will probably never give mine up, I love that machine!

I have looked at the 10000 and 11000 and didn't get either because I don't do a lot of embroidery and the 9000 does everything else I need it to do. It's a real work horse.

I have the Janome 11000 and love it. I have used it primarily for piecing and quilting, just a little embroidery. I can quilt a baby size quilt or lap quilt with no problem. My husband bought it off e-bay-got a good deal. The biggest problem for me is that classes are not free (since I did not buy from dealer.) I would like to have classes using the embroidery aspect. It is a hard working machine and I have had no problems with it. mine has not been upgraded to SE (yet)

I have both the Janome 11000 and the Janome 9000. I love both of them. There isn't much that we can't do on these machines. The lessons are critical. There are video's available if you don't live near a dealership. Keep in mind the ones over Ebay also don't have a warranty. I wouldn't buy this expensive of a machine without a warranty.

Most dealers take trade-ins too if you have another machine that you would want to swap out.

unless they're rolling out a new model, the top price for the mc11000 is around $7,000 dollars. some dealers do not discount at all, some do. my local dealer sells it for much less than that. see my note above. i'd have called for his current price but they're closed on mondays.

if you can get it new for several thousand less than the price quoted by your local dealer(s), i think it makes sense to get it online. it's a great machine so even if you did have to take it to a local dealer for something, you'd still save a lot of money overall. dealers won't quote you a price by email but some will quote over the phone.

do not buy any machine in that price range without sitting down and testing it first. some people swear by ford, others by chevy. it's the same with high end sewing machines. they are all good but each appeals to different people. the fact that i love mine doesn't guarantee you'd love it as much. test as many as you can before you decide.

I love my 11000, but I agree with Patrice J, it is a major purchase. Try one out at a dearlership first. Before we purchased the one we bought, we talked (emailed) with the e-bay seller to make sure everything was on the up and up and of course we realized there would be no warrenty, but we did get a good savings. I feel it was worth it.

I had a Janome 10000 which I upgraded to a 10001 and loved it. Had it for 7 years with no problems but did keep up with regular maintenance which I think is a major factor in any machine. I recently sold it and since I had a wonderful windfall, went with the Babylock Ellisimo instead of the 11000 because I don't like that movable screen and there were some features I wanted that weren't available on the 11000.

However, I will tell you that for a workhorse of a machine that I think will be around for a long time, you can't beat a Janome! Check with Ken's Sewing in Muscle Shoals, AL. They have been the national leading dealer of Janome for several years which means they might give you a better deal due to the quantity they sell. I have dealt with them for 30 years and they are very honest people and incredibly helpful.
