At the Vermont Quilt Festival, there were 11 quilts made by quilters 18 or younger. They were all called to stage and all received ribbons as well as a brand new Janome machine. Not high end, but very pretty machines. You bet those kids will be making a quilt again next year. Three were boys. It was a great start for the show.

I have a Janome I just got in March. and a Brother in April. The Janome only weighs 12 pounds and went to Oklahoma with me. I love it for piecing small items and the Brother for larger items. Brother and Janome are both made by the same company - not sure if it is Brother or Janome. But they both use the same bobbins so I can interchange. Love them both.

Hit the send too soon. I think the girls will love their new machines. What a prize!

Thats a great way to get them involved. I'm thing to teach my 14 year old how to sew. Not doing to well. She is afraid of the sewing machine. It goes to fast for her. I have just bought one you cam set the speed on it. Going to try to teach her on that one now.
