Jelly roll christmas throw

I remember seeing one of Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day tutorials where there was a young girl and they were making a Christmas throw by sewing all jelly rolls strips together end to end, cutting off part of the first strip, and then cutting all of the strips the same width, thus ending up with a beautiful throw. Does anyone remember what I am talking about and can you tell me where I might find this pattern/design/tutorial, etc.? Thank you so much.

It's called the Jelly Roll Race. If you google it Missouri Quilt's Jenny Doan has a YouTube video on it.

Jelly Roll race or 1600 quilt. One Jelly roll (40 strips) of 2.5" fabric. Cut off half the first strip. Sew all the strips together. Sew the two ends together lengthwise. Snip the other end when you get there. Bring the ends together and sew together lengthwise. Continue until it's the size you want. Makes a lap sized quilt.

If you search Jelly Roll race quilt here you'll find examples of how to calculate the final sizes.

Variations - sew the strips together at a 45 degree angle
Variation 2 - sew an accent square between each jelly roll strip.
Variation 3 - cut your own strips of a different width for a different size quilt, and/or change the number of strips used.

I think I found the episode you are looking for on QIAD website.

#2612 Quick Wallhanging - Candy Cane Lane
Time is running short and still so much to do! Eleanor teaches techniques for a quick quilt that will stand the test of time but can be made in a day! For Candy Cane Lane, she sews strips together, forms a tube, and snips a seam! So simple that 10 year old Jackie joins Eleanor to make "kid's work" of this pattern. Great gift, great fun!

It is under the heading of "Christmas at Bear Paw Ranch"

Not sure if it the same pattern as Jenny's Jelly Roll race.

At our February meeting, a bunch of us in our monthly quilt group made this pattern for charity quilts. We had a lot of fun--it's such a simple pattern, you can talk and sew at the same time!
