Our quilt group makes charity quilt tops from 2.5” cuts. Length is random and we use up leftovers. Also have containers of 3” and 4” and 5”.

The jelly roll race quilt is sometimes also called the 1600 inch quilt. All your strips of whatever length you use should add up to approximately 1600 in when sewn end to end. Otherwise you might not end up with the size you expected.
