Check modabakeshop.com. If you search through their "bakery" you can sort by pre-cuts.

Try @"Googling" for free jelly roll patterns and I'm pretty sure you'll find some.

How many strips are in a jelly roll. i don't have any jelly rolls but lots of fabric i need to use up. thanks for your help

prairiekat 02-11-2012 05:03 PM

You asked the magic question, let's see how many answers I can give you. Depending on the fabric line, company, and if it is an official jelly roll--40. But a shop may cut their own, colors may be duplicated if the line has fewer prints or if the price is real cheap. Look at your pattern, most will say use all of the jelly roll, pick out x color and y color or maybe use 2 () or more jelly rolls. If I am buying I watch for the number 40 and also look at the color legend to see how many prints there are. Some people look at the edge, pinked or smooth, so if you cut your own, watch the size as 2 1/2 in is norm.

You could always do a Jelly Roll race quilt...and just do it on your own.

Thank you Lavender Blue for the directions for the super fast quilt. I like the clear directions saved it only to find that I already had it saved from another early posting. Guess it is time to get into action and make it. Looks like a nice way to use up some of the stash to make room for..... more stash. Tee-Hee.

Here's another recommendation for the Moda Bakeshop patterns. However I'll give you a warning: you can waste a lot of time wandering through the wonderful options! <grin> I love to just scroll through the selections. They have a lot of things other than quilts too.

Do you happen to know where that function is? I can only get it to sort by month (which, IMHO, isn't very hekpful). Thanks in advance!

If you click on Bakery there will be a list of the precuts. If you want to see patterns using Jelly rolls, you would click on View Recipes using Jelly Rolls.

Do you know how many jelly rolls it would take to make a queen size quilt? Another question: how much fabric does it take to make one jelly roll?
Thank you
