jelly roll rug
This isn't really quilting but my jelly roll rug has started to curl up on the edge, kind of looks like the edge of a sombrero. I don't have a away, that I know of, to stretch it as then it lays flat but can't hold it there. I have pressed and pressed. Not even half done on it so really need advice.
Thanks, Evelyn |

I've made a few. I sew about 3 times around the "racetrack", then, stop and press. Leave on ironing board until cooled. I believe this is the important step. Be patient...Learned from youtube.

Do not pull and stretch around corners and do not allow the rug to hang off the table as you add you "rounds". In fact, I started slightly pushing my unattached strip roll (don't know what else to call it)into the curve, causing more give in the curve. The. I pressed everso often with best press. I found that pushing and easing, while holding the rug side, into the curves, really helped with the aggravating cupping. Best wishes.

do a search on that here. I know i've seen this problem being discussed before/ Good luck.

Press, and use lots of steam. Are you using a walking foot that really helps to prevent any drag. Make sure it is on a flat surface as you sew, such as an extension table. YouTube videos are very helpful.

I have made one jelly roll rug and was very careful to not stretch or pull the fabric especially when going around corners. If I could show a pix of mine I would, but loading pixs is not on my "can do" list- just doesn't work for me. Good luck.
