Do you have a link to this article? I couldn't find it but I am not familiar with the site. Thanks. Phyllis

Try Google for QuiltFinger - Craftsy. You may have to scroll down a little bit to get it. Then scroll down to the #101 pattern. It is a PDF pattern.

Yes, I cut my own, beginning at about 4 or 5 inches from one corner of the fabric. Use one of my rulers that has a 45° angle line on it, and place that line on one edge of fabric. Make the first cut on the long edge of ruler, then measure
2 1/2" for the next cut. Sew strips end to end.

I donot press either and my bindings seem to lay so nice.

I saw this MSQ video; I think the best part is that by pressing the strips in half before sewing them together, you use the fold likes as guides for sewing on the diagonal to piece them together. You make a "+" with the foldlines then sew. That said, I don't make mine this way, I usually use bias binding - but it did look like that step would be easier if you use a straight of grain binding.

Great tip - will do this next time I make a binding and before I sew all the strips together. Makes good sense. Thanks.

Found it. Thanks!

Makes sense. I think I'll give it a try.

I used to press but after trying the no pressing way once, I was a convert and haven't pressed a binding in half since.

I don't press my bindings in half...I only press the seams open. I fold at the top edge and pin...just so I know I have the right side out.

That's a great tip - Thanks

Interesting concept. I would run a Clover slim line white chalk marker across the wrong side of the fabric in 3 or 4 places before cutting the binding. Then I could always tell the right side from the wrong.
