Jiffy Casserole Carrier
Does anyone know the link for this free pattern? It uses 2 squares of fabric and a square of Insul-Brite, then you use 2 brass circles and 2 handles. I have the pattern, but want the link so that I can share it with students and guild members. I'm hoping someone can help.

do any of these work for you? I googled jiffy casserole carrier, free Good luck. :) |
They all look like they'd work better than wrapping the dish up in a clean bath towel and carrying it in a laundry basket.

I think this might be the one you are looking for. I have been meaning to make some of them myself now that I finally found the brass rings needed. I found them at Tandy Leather in case anyone else is having trouble finding them.

Here is the closest picture to the one I'm trying to find: http://www.camplebanon.org/files/1048.pdf and then scroll down to Jiffy Casserole Cover. On mine, the trianes holding the brass rings aren't on the outside, they are on the inside but this is pretty much it.

thats a nice gift to make thank you for pattern and ideas
|
Can you scan it to a pdf file? Then you can share it.

Here is one I found in my bookmarks. It looks similar to the one you posted but I couldn't quite tell if it was the same or not. I'll let you decide if it's what you are looking for:

i think he is close to 13 yrs old.... hes quite a talker but a biter so i dont hold him anymore i love to find him a home where someone can use him as a breeder in a big cage.....

I copy the URL of the website into the document if it is a Word document before I save it. If I print it, I write the URL on the pattern. If it is a .pdf, I save the .pdf and also save a Word document with the same name as the .pdf. In the Word document, I put the URL and a picture from the .pdf with a reference to the fact that the directions are saved in the .pdf. Just a bit of cross referencing.....

Mine looks just like the one in your link:
Casserole Carrier Cut 2: 19 1/2" squares of fabric Cut 1: 19 1/2" square of batting (Insulbright retains more heat, but regular batting works well also) Cut 2: 4x20" pieces of fabric for handle Cut 1: 4x20" piece of batting two: 3" rings Place the two squares, right sides together, then put on the top of batting square. Stitch around the square, leaving a 4-5" opening on one side for turning. Trim corners at an angle and turn right side out, press, slip-stitch the opening closed. Quilt by stitching corner-to-corner and side to-to-side. Place the handle fabrics right sides together and place on top of batting piece. Stitch the long sides, turn right side out, press, and quilt the handle. Sew the handle on two opposite corners. Sew the 3" rings in the two other corners. To use, place the casserole in the center of the square and slip the handle through the rings. |
