I always get small remnants out of their remnant bin instead. I love a lot of their colors and patterns, but their FQs just seems too thin

I selected some to go with a fabric and put them back because they were so thin and would not hold up to the main fabric. I have gotten some that were better and had a tight weave, but lately it seems their standards have gone down.

Mine that I have bought there in the past were always short by 1/2 -1 inch on both measurements.

Boy I thought it was just me but I find the new fqs are worse then the ones they use to carry. I bought a few and was very disappointed with them. They are very thin and the selvage was real wide. I threw them out.

i won't buy FQ from Joanns anymore, a waste of money. i'd rather pay full price for quality fabric. i have bought kits from there and haven't had any issues with the quality.

I have bought some that were fantastic as far as designes on them but I actually take each one slightly out of the bunch to feel them and check the quality. I've had good luck so far.

I recently bought some fat quarters that looked like batiks. However, when I got them home and opened them up, they felt thicker and stiff so I washed them and they are still stiffer and feel thicker than regular batiks.
It seems to be a crap shoot so now I only buy them when they're on sale and only if I don't have a certain print/color.

They are not LQS quality for sure. You're not gonna get a Moda or Kaufman, etc. for that price. I think they are similar to the fabrics Walmart uses, or at least used to, they are seconds or lowgrade purchased very inexpensively. I only use them for small piecing. Way to thin for a quilt that you are going to put a lot of time into, as they don't wear well. I discovered it the hard way. The same is not true of their regular fabrics. I usually buy 1/2 yds of good fabric and cut it into 2 fat quarters, 1 to use and 1 to either stash or give away as a gift.

THREW THEM OUT??? They are fine for small piecing, just not large projects.

Seems to me that we need to write letters to JoAnn's with our concerns. With as many of us who are dissatisfied, that's a lot of negative feedback.
