John James Needles?

I just bought some John James Gold n’ Glide size 10 needles. I love how smooth they move through fabric. HOWEVER, can someone tell me how you thread them? Have mercy, the eye of the needle is barely there. TIA

Linda

I have some John James with big eyes!! Can you get a needle threader into it?

I use John James #8 embroidery needles for most of my binding and hand sewing. They glide through the fabric smooth but have a good size eye for threading. My #11 John James I only use when using very fine silk thread and have a dark surface behind the eye when threading.

I always use the big eye quilting needles by J James. You must have bought the regular eyed ones. For small eyes, I use a needle threader - have a little gizmo made by Clover that works well for me.

I use those needles, usually don’t have trouble threading them. I have used s needle threader at times, just the ones from Joann’s. My favorite needles!

My favorite needles!! If my old eyes are tired and having problems threading - I run the thread through some old fashion beeswax and with a sharp scissor clip the end off at a slight angle! Works like a charm for me.

I didn’t realize I could find big eyes! The threader will not fit.
Now off to find with big eyes!
