butterflywing posted tip of the week: Instead of sewing the pieces together, use a lightweight fusible interfacing! Overlap the two pieces of batting and cut the joining line. Remove the trimmings and fuse the interfacing over the join! I wouldn't try it on a polyester batting, but I'm definitely going to try it on cotton! Margo

I tried this technique today on my pieces of cotton batting. So easy and it Works Great! Thanks so much for all the help this quilt board gives!! I needed to use up those leftover batting pieces.

Just make sure that if you use the interfacing that it's only "sticky" on one side. If you use heat n bond, you have to make sure you have some fabric scrap covering the other side or you'll have it sticking to the top of the quilt once you put an iron to it.

Thanks to all of you who posted about using fusible interfacing. I tried it for the first time yesterday and it was simple and effective.
