Judging quilts

Before I start to search the internet for a list of items that need to be checked for judging a quilt show I thought someone on this wonderful board may be able to give me some tips on where to look. I am on a committee to set up the right way to judge a quilt. Thank you.

visit the American Quilter's Society website. they are the ones who certify qualified quilt appraisers & set the standards for judging quilts.
another place to visit would be the national quilt museum website in Omaha Nebraska.

The National Quilting Association (also?) certifies judges. Some of the criteria are listed on their website

You can also find a list of certified judges in your area

You can also check with your local county fair. Or even your state fair folks. They usually have a worksheet of criteria they follow. I know our county fair has a nifty sheet...they give it back to us after judging so we can read the judges comments and see what we did good on and where improvements are needed.
