I have seen on this page an add for Juki TL 98Q quilting machine.
I have only one sewing machine, Singer FashionMate, that is about 33 years old. it is still very good, but I have retired recently and would like to do my own quilting.

would appreciate your opinion on Juki TL 98Q. it was around $800.

I had one (sold it to get my HQ) I did love it though, seemed to be a great machine, can be used on a frame as well, it's a straight stitch only machine though. Can use alot of oil also (loves lubrication). Other than that, I can't say i had any problems that weren't new frame quilting errors of my own causing.

I bought a new Juki 98TL (has a couple more options than the TL Q model) about a year and a half ago for $899 brand new from my LQS... I LOVE this machine for free-motion quilting!!! and piecing too!

I have one and I love it. Just a straight stitch machine but I love mine for FMQ. Last year I invested in a frame for it and it's so much easier to quilt now. I say go for it.

Me too!! I use it all the time, even to piece.

LOVE, love, love my juki machine! She is about 2 years old and is used daily. She is the best! Piecing and free motion are so easy.

I love mine as well. I do most of my piecing on her, I also make bags on her and have her on a frame to do FMQ. I want a long arm now, but I would never give her up. The Juki rules- she has all metal parts, and no computer- as long as you oil her, she's sew straight, true and FAST. Love love love.

While I don't use my Juki for quilting, I bought mine strictly for piecing and I have to say I LOVE this machine!

But don't get the TL98Q, the TL2010Q is out now, and has a couple of very nice improvements on it, and if you call Les at Ed Raichert's:
http://www.raichert.com/azsewingstore/t-combopage3.htm

You can get it for $750.
