Boy I JUST NOW finished the June hop. I don't know what was wrong with me, but I honestly felt this one was harder then the ones prior. But I KNOW that it wasn't any harder then they were. I would get so blasted flustered that I would just give up. I normally don't do that, but boy I did this time and I am ashamed of myself for it, but I will get over it by tomorrow since I know that I have it all done. I hope everyone found all the bunnies. Them little rascals are hiding really well. I did find a few for July and I did write them down. But by the time July comes around, I am sure that I will forget where I put the paper I wrote them down on. LOL

I'm with you on this one. I too thought it was a bit more difficult, but I finally got them all. Can't wait to get the directions for the sampler quilt. I really like that one.

Me either. I have all the fabric cut out and I have 10 of the blocks already sewn. Thats what I have been working on out on my patio this week. :)

I have all the blocks, just waiting on the pattern now.

I am having a hard time getting motivated to look for those cute little bunnies..So far, I think I have found about 90..Just 90..

shawnemily 06-27-2011 03:40 AM

I have to agree! I am still missing 3! :(
Thousands of bolts is one.

Charleen DiSante 06-27-2011 03:53 AM

This was my first shophop and it had me wondering about how hard those little rascals were hiding but I found'em. Then I went back and looked at the list and saw I had missed 9. I bagged those bunnies and hit the final mark of collecting all 17 blocks as well. I wonder, how many who find all the blocks actually make the quilt?

Thousands of Bolts' bunny is under their video tutorials. That shop is always the one I have an issue finding it on. I love their fabrics but hate the layout of the site.

shawnemily 06-27-2011 06:13 AM

Thank you Jennifer!

I still have about 20 shops to go. I agree this one was tough. But the sampler-Oh My.

shawnemily 06-27-2011 12:44 PM

I got my last 3...phew!!

Can someone clarify a few things for me? I have read about people going on a shop hop before but I sure had it wrong. I figured that it was a group of people visiting local quilt shops. It sounded like lots of fun and I thought I would watch for one near me. Now I have a new spin on it. Another term I haven't understood is ETSY. People mention my "etsy". I have seen it in their links and know it has something to do with things for sale(?) but what does it stand for? Ok, one more, avatar. I looked it up in the dictionary. Hindu - descent of a deity to earth manifesting a shape or incarnation of a god or manifestation of an abstract concept. I look at the quilts and they are beautiful, but is there a deeper meaning? I guess I am pretty literal so I don't always get it. Sometimes I feel like Alice (in Wonderland) having lots of fun, but not always knowing what is going on.

My first fabshophop was May 2011. There were some tough one, some that were loaded a few days into May but I found them all and got 20 something bonus bunnies.
June fabshophop was hard. There were many stores that had no hint and many that I believe didn't have the bunny loaded eventhough it was after teh middle of the month. I think some of the shops had a trigger to hold the bunny back until I had clicked around in their site. I did find them all and do have all the sampler patterns downloaded. It was harder.

*Finally*! A bunch of crazy people who hop - I found them! I look forward to sharing my clues the next 'hop round!

I can help with a few! Etsy is a website (hang on to your credit card if you have never visited!) for handmade items...some crafting supplies...well, just go see it!

http://www.etsy.com/

They are an alternative to Ebay, however many are now turning to Artfire due to some of the Etsy policies and charges...

http://www.artfire.com/

Avatar - it's the 'picture' you identify yourself with on a message board. Many here use quilts, cats, kids... When you go to your My Profile page, you can upload an "Avatar" - helps board memebers easily see who you are, and it's fun to have some personal pictures to share w/others.

Hope that helped you on this side of the Looking Glass! ;-)

Great answers about the avatar and etsy. That helped me too. :) Some of the shops were just so easy, like 'click here for bunny' but there was one that you had to click on the lady's photo and keep clicking and keep, well, you get me, and then finally after what seemed like about 20 photos of her, the bunny came up. Whew! that one took a while. :0)

(bows) thanks! :) Yes!! That lady drives me crazy every month...lol.

Charleen DiSante 06-27-2011 02:02 PM

Oh, good! thought I was being picky. What they don't realize is if we feel that way, we will most likely not go back to their site. Happy stitching! :)

Cheshirepat, Thanks, that helps. Is Etsy an acronym? What are the shop hops? Where do you find out where to look for them? BTW I love your avatar!

Lol, see? One mystery under your belt! To do your question credit, I did look up to find out if Etsy stood for anything...it is NOT an acronym, and there seems to be some debate about it's origin - kept a mystery- I know not why.

Start Fabshop hopping by registering at:

http://www.fabshophop.com/

Once you do - it's like a treasure hunt. There is a BIG list of online stores - at each online store they have "hidden" a little bunny picture. Some give good clues to help you find them, others don't. The reason for "hunting" for them? Once you find the bunny, click and it will register your find with the Fabshophop site, and *some* of the bunnies will have a quilt block pattern...the point is to try to collect them ALL - for both a chance to win some nice prizes from the FSH gang, and to have a full quilt's worth of blocks! The block patterns are downloadable PDF files (you'll need Adobe Reader on your computer). It's mostly fun, but beware it can be tedious!

When they did the Slice of Pie quilt - each block had a recipe too, so did the cupcakes! Bonus!

TY for the compliment - my avatar is a picture of an UnFinished Object -my first try at a log cabin. Enjoy the hopping, if you do!

What fun today has been. I've learned at least three new things and that was after summer school. (I am teaching reading for new 3rd graders). Looked at the Fabshophop link and it looks like lots of fun and a source for lots of new quilt ideas. Hope I can fit in some hopping and quilting before the new school year starts. Thanks again for the explanations! Love the colors or your Log Cabin UFO. By the way I always thought my first quilt would be a log cabin. Saw one 35 years ago and never have started one, but I just started quilting three years ago and one day I will make one.
