June Tailor ruler
I have a 6 X24 June Tailor ruler that I just love. The edge is getting really worn down, so I want to get a new one. I have spent a very long time looking and can't find one for sale anywhere. Does anyone know if they are still being made?
I really don't like the onmi grid one I have at all. Others I have looked at are marked like it so don't want them either. Any info would be appreciated. |
I looked on the June Tailor website and didn't see one. Here is a link to the ruler section of their online store:
http://store.junetailor.com/store/c-2-rulers.aspx If it's not on their website, I would assume they are no longer being made. You might be able to find one by doing an ISO (In Search Of) in the QB's Thrift Shop section, or on the SewItsForSale group at groups.yahoo.com -- or by checking eBay. Edit: Okay. I found a page on the June Tailor website for this ruler, but the page is blank. Perhaps you could email them to ask about it: http://store.junetailor.com/store/p-...-24-ruler.aspx I *did* find the ruler as part of a kit available from Allbrands: http://www.allbrands.com/products/52...11-x-23-cuttin and the kit is even less at JoAnn's online: http://www.joann.com/june-tailor-qui...a8QaAp318P8HAQ |
Thank you Prism. Disappointing but I will see if I can find someone that has one for sale. I have tried to find the yahoo group in the past but couldn't find it. I will give it another shot.

yes I DO have one.
Several years ago when WalMart was putting all their sewing stuff on clearance I bought 4-6 of the rulers (back when I had extra money for that). I will post pictures tomorrow to make sure it is the same ruler you are looking for. |
Thank you both! Prism I asked to join the group. QL looking forward to the picture tomorrow.

I really like the ones from Creative Grids. All those yellow lines on the Omnigrid rulers give me a headache! What I look for in a long ruler is one that begins at 1 inch on both long sides. I had one, which I threw away, that had one long side at 1 inch and the other side at 1/2 inch. I was always making mistakes when I had the ruler turned to the 1/2 inch side. After years I finally just threw any rulers like that into the recycle bin.

Michellesews----- I know what you you mean about those yellow lines. I find them so distracting, makes me more challlenged than I want to be. Whoever decided yellow was the way to mark the rulers, please tell me your reasoning why YELLOW was used!!! I've seen the rulers marked with orange, but never used one. I hear they're easier on the eyes. angela |
I almost always double fold my fabrics, so I use the June Tailor Shape Cut for most of my cutting (as long as the pieces are in 1/2" increments), or I use my 12-1/2" square. I found that I made too many mistakes cutting the full WOF because of my short arms (I am only 4'11" tall).
The best thing my DH ever did was step on my 8-1/2" x 24" ruler. He felt so guilty that he gave me the money to replace it, and I bought the 12" x 18" Shape Cut. Then my son cut the broken ends off, so I got two shorter rulers (7-1/2" and 14"). |
I just found the kit on June Tailor's site--maybe she wants us to spend more money???

Walmart sells June Taylor supplies.

I checked my local Walmart earlier this week. They don't carry a single June Tailor anything. That ruler is not available on line either. I haven't seen it anywhere but in a kit.
I'm another that hates the yellow of the Omnigrids. |
Must be different at different Walmarts, ours does.....strange. Sorry I was not more help.

I have the JT one like in the picture and also have the one with orange lines and have and Omnigrid. I like the JT the best. Do not like the Omnigrid. I have many, many rulers. Mostly ones I have never used. When I first started quilting, every time saw a different ruler, I thought I might need it and the AccuGo. Have just learned to strip cut and found it's basically all I need to do to make all the blocks I need! Jokes on me!! LOL!!!
