June Tailor Shape Cut Pro Slotted Ruler
 

I just paid a lot of money for this quilting tool and trying to decide whether to keep it. I have not unwrapped it yet. It's
20" x 23" so I will have to find flat storage for it. I have watched several times the only 2 youtube video demonstrations I could find on it. They only talk about using it to make strips, jelly rolls, charm packs and layer cakes. I don't make any of those except strips. If you have one, please share your experience with it. Is it worth the money? TIA

I have several June Taylor rulers but not the one you're asking about. I use them quite often but I can cut every 1/2" so can make various sizes. It appears the one you have has slots that are 2.5" apart only. If you cut a ton of 2.5" strips, then it would be useful. If not, I would return it. JMHO.

I absolutely my June Tailor ruler, and I have 3 of them, but the 12" square. I found a 12"x18" last year at a thrift store for $3, so I bought it, but didn't like it, since you could cut up to 18" width wise, but lengthwise, it was still 12", so I gave it away.

I have one. It does make strip cutting faster.
Worth the money? I think so.... if you cut strips from a length of fabric. From scraps … maybe, maybe not

I have the same one as IrishNY and use it all the time. You can cut the strips, keep them together, then cut in the other direction to cut squares. I cut 600 2-1/2 inch squares in about half an hour and they’re totally accurate.

I use it all the time and it lays on my cutting mat when not in use ready for the next time I need to cut. Cut strips of any size and then cut the other way, using the June Taylor ruler, to make squares or rectangles. I would not do without and I own many rulers and a big die cutter.

I would recommend the 1/2 inch lines one. I think it would be more flexible for blocks instead of just strips. It's great for cutting. The only learning curve is to learn to press down more than too the side when cutting.

I wore out one and am on my second one. I cut all my 2-1/2" binding strips, fence rail strips and basketweave strips with it. For my donation quilts I use it to cut 7-1/2" blocks. I use it a lot and would not be without it.

I also have the June Tailor and Stripology and love them. Totally worth the money for me.
