Just bought the EQ7 - thank you Jennifer23
In one of my posts, I had messed up a pattern, and Jennifer23 showed me what it would look like when it was all completed using EQ7 ... so I looked it up ... on Wednesday, researched it (found a thread on here about the EQ7 that was very helpful) and bought it.
It was delivered today, so I just spent the last hour watching the videos and playing with it! What fun! I really can't wait to start my next quilt ... I do so many calculations all the time, that just that will be a huge timesaver. (Also, being Canadian, I am constantly switching my measurements from imperial to metric LOL ) I did notice that the EQ7 (being American) is imperial, but am hoping I can change it to metric. Thanks Jennifer23 for telling me about this! |
congrats... a little overwhelming at first, but every time i open it, i read at least one of the tips and i've learned a lot that way, even though i've used it for years.
to change the default unit of measurement: On the File menu, click Preferences > Measurement. Inches is selected by default. Click the option you want to work with, then click OK. |
Thank you quiltnan!! I will definitely do that. Much appreciated

Do You EQ is a great website and there is much to learn there. http://doyoueq.com/ I participate in the monthly challenge and it has really helped me with my EQ skills, and I still consider myself a strong beginner. Rhonda posted some wonderful EQ tutorials here on the Quilting Board. This might get you there. http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...a-t195158.html

Aw, thanks - I'm glad you like it! EQ is so much fun to play with. Definitely check out the links Barb in Louisiana posted; I've found them both very helpful.

Enjoy your new toy, I think it's a fabulous program. But am wondering why you want to change it to mm, when every quilt pattern (almost every) gives direction in inches. So do the quilters rulers. We in Oz grew up with imperial, but went metric just after I was married in '65, so I have no problems with either, except with weights. You will get used to it.

I think EQ just announced a free series of classes/videos that have either started or are about to start.
