Not sure I like working from the back of the machine and I'm really glad that was a charity quilt THAT I MADE. The next 3 others made and I'll need to be alot more careful. There's alot more to it than I first thought. Like spacing for starters. When I got to the end of the quilt I had to improvise because I didn't figure all that in before starting. Live and learn. I like freehand, ruler work and using stencils a whole lot better than pantographs! Any pointers from the more experienced is always welcome. Thanks.

I have to improvise at the end of my quilts also. If I have the same size blocks in each row then I seem to do better.

A lesson learned, hope to get a LAM.

You have to do the math. A partial pattern at top and bottom will blend in better than a half at the bottom. Some patterns won't matter at all. Don't forget to calculate any overlap in the rows. Every quilt is different in how much the quilting will suck up. The heavier the batting the shorter the quilt top gets. And any number of other factors.
