Hi,

I installed my new EQ7 yesterday and have figured out some basics and watched the videos and have even designed a few quilts and imported fabrics and used them....doing good! I did a few of the lessons, picking and choosing.
Having such fun, but need a break and think I'll go downstairs and do some real quilting instead of just virtually! Might save on fabric and thread just doing quilts on my laptop...LOL.

LMBO Just think of the money you will save :D:D:D
I enjoy making virtual quilts almost as much as the real thing  :D

So do I--and there's so much I haven't learned yet!

I have EQ6 and love it - the lessons are great. There is still so much I have to learn.

Hi,

Just a question, now that I've made all these virtual quilts, how often do you gals sew them? Just curious.

I know how to print the fabric yardage out, but have to figure out the block cutting part....confused on that, but will get it! I thought it did the quilt for you, but see it's the block...then must just figure out for the number of blocks in the quilt? Another day tomorrow......tired now.

I have played with that thing ALL day! But, we had thunderstorms on and off all day so we didn't go to the lake and it was a great day to just sit and explore EQ7.

All this learning has made me tired.........sigh......

Yes, with EQ you have to figure out how to piece the blocks, and you have to keep track of how many of each, and how they get sewn together. I don't use it much for yardage either, but it is a tremendous help in designing the quilt, determining how a color scheme would look, deciding what borders to use, etc. Have fun with your new EQ!

When you have your quilt on the screen, go to FILE and under there you'll see print. When you put your cursor on that a new little window will open and at the bottom is fabric yardage. Click on that and it'll tell you what you need.
