Why do the quilts we think will be sooooo easy turn out to be the ones NOT? Do you ever do that too? I think "I can whip that out in no time", only to find 6 months has passed. Is it loss of interest, lack of time, or just the birth process of a UFO?

Maybe, I got one UFO, that I cut out the pieces and because I was so brilliant on the sewing machine I did about 10 sqaures by hand, and then gave up. About 500 pieces total in the quilt and the instructions were, lacking.... The pieces, poorly cut out were stuffed in my scrap bags, so, I would say, it depends on the person. I love quilts, but their a pain cutting out......
Thats where I get stuck.

the easier a quilt looks ... the more likely it is to give me fits.

I think it's boredom- too easy?

I agree with Barbm. I pay more attention when it is a little more difficult.

My problem is that I have more ideas than I can do in several lifetimes. I do not know if it is because a particular pattern is more difficult than it looks. I just everything to be done in a hurry.

OH geez, I hear you. I've also had the opposite happen. Working for months on a pattern only to "whip it out" and I'm left feeling a bit let down for how fast it went. Jypt of sorts.

I find I work better under pressure to get it done. Like in a class or a project on a site like this. Then you have to finish it!

The more projects you have going the better. I do at least 3 at a time and work on each for awhile to kill the boredom and monotony.

Work on the quilt that is difficult about 1 hour 2x week and eventually it will be finished.

The one big thing that will deter me from finishing a project are lousy directions or directions that don't seem to complete the project. They just keep you sort of hanging in mid-air.
