I have the fabric for my two oldest grandkids (girls) quilts. I want to make them with the same fabric but mix them up a bit. (The same but different)
Here's my problem.......I don't have the pattern. DUH! One of the fabric's (they are a grouping) is a rather large print so I feel it needs to be a large block. I could use the same pattern I did with my daughter's green quilt but I wanted to do a different one. And for sure a young look. Am I the only person that knows they want to make a quilt, has the fabric, and can't decide on a pattern. I feel like a dope! :-) |
You are not alone! Check out the Warm Wishes pattern and see if it will work for you.

Well count me in as another dope!! :D:D

Count me in too! I want to do so many things, I have a hard time deciding.

The story of my quilting career! Some one here suggested the warn wishes pattern for me and it is working out wonderfully!

Did several small ones once with one common fabric for little cousins, highlighted different colors in each, same base color w/mostly pink as secondary (irish chain) same base color w/mostly yellow as secondary (zig zig) so all ended up with the one common faabric in all. Didn't work well with the boys as they were smiling sunflowers.
You can do it!! :) |
you can do it, have fun!

count me in too!!!!!LOL I always do that.

Thanks for the support and ideas everyone!!
Here are my fabrics. Bright and bold just like the grandkids. :D I just don't want to make it too busy with these "loud" fabrics. Here are all the ones I'm working with. No you are not the only person. Far from it. Especially with large prints I am always looking for inspiration and ideas that will incorperate the print yet not chop it up so much that the large print is totally lost. How about enlarging a star block (maybe to 15-24" or so) and using the big print as a center.

Go figure and they are of adult age. Like DH says better that they ask for quilts then that you only make quilts for the cat because no one likes them. It is kind of funny though. ~smile~ |
