Kenmore 158-19802

Help!

I bought an old Kenmore 158-19802 sewing machine. Thinking it would be easy to obtain a copy of the owners manual. Wrong!

I've sent an e-mail to Sears. No help. Googled, only to come to dead ends.

This machine uses cams (of which I know NOTHING about) and I'm thinking some of them might be missing. Although, cams can be ordered....

Do any of you have this machine/owners manual? I'd be more than happy to pay for a copy.

Thanks for your help.

Candace.. thank you. I'll give that a try. So far, I've run into nothing but dead-ends.

I found mine on here Sewing Educational Warehous.
Mine is a 1947 Kenmore I think they start at $5.95 and up depending which kind of binding you choose.

You got a great machine. All the 158 series are classics, run forever with cleaning and oiling. Sometimes they run forever in spite of abuse! You should have no trouble getting parts for it, though, like bobbins, a walking foot, or other feet you may want.

Earleen... is Sewing Educational Warehouse a web-site? Or some place on this web-site?

JustAbit... thanks. I'm anxious to get it up and running. It came in a nice cabinet too.

Candace, I've applied to join that Yahoo group. Haven't heard back from them yet. Apparently you have to be approved for membership.

It is a site I went in, you may have to look around on there a little. I got my machine in cabinet for $10.00 with that amout in needles that were in it, also bobbins. Runs like a kitten.

Hi HillCountryGal, Today I am the proud owner of a kenmore 158 19802 and mine came in a nice cabinet too. I am asking for your help as I cannot find a manual for it anywhere in England. Kenmores were not popular over here.Would it be possible for you to scan and send me a copy. Thanking you in advance for your help.Ann.(I will post a photo of her when she has had a clean)

Try http://www.sewing-machine-manuals.com/ I found the manual for my Sears 158.1040 there.

anniebee... the manual I ordered came from Canada. Have you contacted them? Sewing Educational Warehouse (google to find them). It's many, many pages long. I ordered a "hard copy" as opposed to them e-mailing the info. You might try that.
