I would like to find out what I can about this Kenmore machine. I know this is the place with the answers. It is a Model 923, Serial #33401 and the person wants $60 for it.
Can anyone tell me anything about it?
Thanks

I bought Kenmore Sewing Machine Model 385, June 2002 from Goodwill pound store for $5.00. It was missing the presser foot and etc but runs. My son got on a website to get the Model number and etc and printed off a 30 page manual from that site for free. Check and see if it runs ok its probably a good deal, you can go to WalMart and get a new Singer for under $100 for a basic machine. I ended up with several feet for it as a quilting friend has two Kenmores and double sets of ft and shared with me.

In my opinion, you'd be better off spending your $60 on a vintage machine. There are several that are just wonderful straight stitchers.. Singer Model 15 or a Japanese clone of that model, Model 66, Model 99. All of those are great. Also if you need zigzag, Model 401 or 501. These are all metal machines that won't break like the ones with plastic gears, etc.

I think $60 is a little much for the Kenmore. JMO

Ditto!

I didn't know if this was one with all metal gears or not. That's one thing I am interested in knowing. Now I'll think about this one. Don't want it if it's plastic gears.

Just got an email back from Sears and they can't help me with any information.

You might find something on this site that is helpful, I do not know. Worth a try. Ruth

Thanks Ruth. Tried it but no help. I don't think the person that has it for sale gave me the full serial number. Will be checking back with him.
