Kenquilt Royal Longarm

Help please - going today to look at a Kenquilt Royal Longarm - 24" throat - 12' table - M class bobbin - I would be the third owner if I purchase - does anyone have any feedback on this? Lady is asking $3,000 - this company is no longer in business. She will have it set up for me to try out. It does have a stitch regulator.

If you are comfortable going solo(no support) than $3000 seems okay. Bring your own variety of thread to see if switching from threads doesn't mess up the tension. Bring a mirror to see the quality of the stitches underneath. See if you can load your own quilt and quilt it before buying. Take lots of pictures of the set up and how to load it etc. before you have to do it yourself. Ask if you can contact her if you have problems. I have no experience with a long arm so you might look to see if their is a Yahoo group that has some advice.

I had a much older and smaller Kenquilt and it ran like it was brand new. I bought it from a lady who had stored it in her barn for 3 years. Got it home and set up on the table...DFIL oiled it and it ran great! My DQF has a bigger KenQuilt (not sure of model) and it works great too.
