A good friend has asked me to make a kindermat cover for her little boy. I have looked online and cannot find any free patterns. I would like it to be free so she doesn't have to pay for the pattern. The ones I've seen have a pillowcase for a travel pillow that is attached to the mat cover. Can anyone help me out. Thanks!!

I don't have a picture because this was made almost 30 years ago...Used a regular sized foam kindermat from Walmart, covered it pillowcase style. Attached a stuffed pillow to one end and a blanket at the other. Put a pocket on the pillow for a kleenex. Put fabric straps on the backside and taught my son how to roll it all up and tie the straps to keep it together in the closet of his classroom. Used a denium look fabric and coordinating cotton plaid. Stayed in good shape, could be washed, with mat removed, and his sister used it two years later. I must have passed it down to a cousin.

Back in the day with my three I just made a quick pillowcase like covering, attached some velco at the the top and called it done. Back then I could get good fabric for $1 a yard too.

Thanks to all who responded. I really appreciate it. My kids are 24 and 26 so I really haven't done much crafting for little ones lately. I love this board, everyone's very helpful. A great resource.

I made one for my granddaughter and her teacher made her bring it home with a note saying that unless I made one for everyone she couln't bring it back. She could have a towel or nothing.

Wow, sorry to hear that.. I asked the teacher if it was ok.. her response if it fits in her cubby it was fine..

Ive had moms ask me to make one for their kids but after I told them the cost of material I would need, they said they'd get back to me.. no one got back to me.. lol .. Not sure but I kinda get the feeling they wanted one for free..
