I have built my own frame for small quilts like baby quilts and wall quilts. It is a simple frame with dowel rods and two end pieces to hold them. I have pieced a king size quilt and I am looking for ways to quilt it myself. Can anyone help me with this?.
Thanks, Toni |
I've hand quilted some pretty large quilts just using a 14" quilter's hoop.

I'm quilting a queen size with a 14" hoop. I have the instructions and hardware for a Hinterberg floor frame, but I haven't been able to get my husband to work on it.

if it's not too late, here's what i did.
I needed to hand quilt a California King quilt. and being unemployed, wasn't able to afford much, so I went to the lumber yard, (hardware store, anywhere you can get lumber cut) and got 4 1X2 inch pieces of wood cut 6 feet. i bought 4 "C" clamps, and VOILA', a 6 ft squared quilt frame. I hung it from the ceiling, you can also prop it on 4 dining room chair backs, just make sure you fold up towels or something to cushion the chair back with so you don't scratch the chairs. |
