Up til now, I've only used Connecting Thread Essentials thread in my long-arm and have been very happy with it. But I want to use variegated thread for the quilt I'm piecing now and think I am going to go with King Tut after reading the rave reviews here. I have two questions:

What is the best place online to buy it?

What do you use in the bobbin? Can I use the Tut in the bobbin or is it too thick?

Thanks for your help.

I use their Bottom Line in the bobbin with King Tut.

Yep, what Katrine said. :)

You can purchase King Tut thread at the source on line ..
Superior Threads. They are always adding new colors. If you do alot of quilting you may want to have their color chart .
Many quilt shops are carrying it as well , but some do not have all the colors that are available.
They also have one of the best invisable threads ( can take high heat).
I have used "tut" in my bobbin but only on a short arm... wonderful results.

I buy mine at http://www.redrockthreads.com or http://sewthankful.com and I use bottomline in the bobbin.

King Tut is a thicker thread. By using Bottom Line (a thin thread) in your bobbin you won't have to be filling a bobbin all the time. The difference in the thickness between the two is substantial, but they play well together.

I haven't tried King Tut thread, but I love to order from Red Rock Threads as mentioned above. Very reasonable prices, shipping and quick delivery.

I love King Tut in the top and Bottom Line in the bobbin for quilting. My machines love it! I get mine from Superior Threads, shipping is quick and inexpensive. I also have tried Masterpiece for machine piecing, also a wonderful thread. I think you will like the threads and the service.

King Tut is very nice and I like it. Superior has great info about thread on their website. If Superior thread is on sale somewhere at a great price I buy it. I use Connecting Threads more than any other brand but I have all brands. I like to try them all when I find a good sale.
