If you can't find the time to make a quilt for Joplin, it's also possible to send a (home made) kit. It'll be given to women who lost all their stash . You can read all about it here

Wonderful idea. Please note: they are asking for HAND stitching kits to be given to people who lost everything. Obviously they no longer have their machines to use. If we can include everything, even needles, scissors, thread, plus anything else they need it would be great too.

What do you all think about sending a nice set of 12 already finished blocks that just need setting together?

I think that would be great! I wonder if they could also use knitting/crochet projects for people who don't hand quilt/sew. I used to work on a crochet project when I was homeschooling my second son. He is dyslexic and workbooks were very hard for him to do. I found I had a lot more patience with him if I had something in my hands while he was doing his school work. He is twenty-one now and doing fine. He works for a furniture company in Charlotte.

What a great idea. I want to put together a kit for a quilt. I assume the pieces should be cut and ready to sew together. I'll make sure to put in all that is needed to make it. Thanks for the idea!

Do you know if there is a contact for doing this in Alabama?
