Kits

I want to order myself a quilting kit for Christmas. Where should I look?

Try Connecting Threads or Keepsake Quilting.

Start at your local quilt store and see what they provide. Shop local!

If you want to go online, any site will offer kits. There are so many that it is hard to narrow it down. Hancocks of Paducah, Keepsake Quilting, Missouri Star, Fat Quarter Shop are some of the better known ones but there are literally hundreds more out there.

Creative quilt kits is the name of a place I love!

The only kit I ever bought was at The Pincushion Boutique. Nice choices, the fabrics were luxurious, and the cuts were generous. They do a wonderful job of coordinating the fabrics.

I don't like to do kits, but their color schemes are really tempting. I always linger at their show booth ;-)

I buy most of my Kits from Homestead Hearth, they have dozen's to choose from, all good quality fabrics. They have wonderful service too.

I also would buy local and try to make the kit up fairly soon after purchase in case there is not enough fabric and you would need more. I also like to see a sample made up as I have trouble envisioning what it will look like without seeing a sample. Also I have kits that I have kept so long I don't really like them anymore but I feel guilty if I don't make them. That being said, it seems that Connecting Threads kits are generous with fabric and allow for some leeway in case of mistakes.

Quiltsinmontana.com has some great Christmas kits. Yesterday I was there and they had a super cute Christmas fairy quilt kit. I was good and didn't buy it.
