Kona solid fat quarters
I've collected a lot of kona fat quarters all solid colors, I'm now searching for a pattern to use them, all ideas are welcomed.
thanks |
The Disappearing Hourglass block makes a nice quilt if you have lights and darks for contrast.

May I suggest: The Big Easy by Black Cat Creations, Radiant by Fat Quarters Anonymous,Log Cabin logs by Marlous Designs Between the lines pattern #322 Mountainpeek Creations, Centennial , Co. all are single packs on my to-do list. Twistd Classics is book available as a used book by Jeanne Stauffer & Sandra Hatch for about $3.00. which I have used and plan to use again. Also those who have been on the All Iowa Shop Hop in June in Iowa have patterns in their 2016 book to use up their Kona Colors they gave away then. Also the www.Quilterscache.com site of over 1600 blocks free and most designers also have free pattern book and quilt offers. I down loaded the Courtyard 3 Sisters free quilt pattern from Moda this morning. Their chain would be perfect for this Kona adventure. Pm me about it if you are interested. I have about more ideas than I have time to do quilting!

Thanks!
I'll check it out |
Wow
gonna check those out thanks |
I am currently making a swoon quilt using 30's prints and kona solids. I am using the prints for the points and the center star, and the solids for the 'house' shapes. I'd post a pic but I am not at home right now. BTW, I think the blocks finish at something like 24"

Carpenter's Star would be an option. That's on my bucket list for a "solid only" quilt.

There's a book called 'We Love Color -- 16 Iconic Quilt Designers Create with Kona Solids.' Maybe they would have it at your library. The designs are very modern.
I would suggest the 'Crumbs' pattern by Me and My Sister. I've seen a version of that done in solids on Pinterest that is stunning. https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/5186...50627/?lp=true |
I would cut strips and sew them together then cut in the other direction. If you make 2 1/2 " strips sewn together and then cut the other way and sewn you will have a piece with 2" finished squares. I make these in blocks and put them all together. Makes a quick and easy pretty quilt.
