Do you know if I sign my name on the label? There isn't much room for it. Thanks

I always put a label on mine.

I always put my name on the label, no matter how small. But, there are no rules, so you're free to do whatever you like ;).
|
QFKs ask you to name the quilt and put your name on the back of the quilt. For the ones I donate the fabric for I am putting that info and the date on each quilt with my embroidery machine.
|
They request first name only. Maybe last initial. They usually provide instructions with their kits and refer specifically to signing the quilts. If you need info - let me know. I have the instructions on hand.

Please.

I try to put the year on gifted quilts for the family with permanent ink with a fine point.
|
The Downy Quilts for Kids provided label asks for Quilters First Name and the Quilt Name (e.g.'Stars & Moons'). Their instruction sheet says to sing the label with a permanent fabric marker; place label on back of quilt and sew around all four sides.

If they send you a kit for the Downy quilt, NJ Quilter is correct. However, I don't have an embroidery machine, and every one of the 4 different marking pens I bought "bleeds" when I use it on the Downy label, and besides, my writing/printing is awful. So, I stitch the label on the quilt and enclose a note asking them to write on it.
If they send you a "Quilts for Kids" label (not a Downy label), I just attach it to the quilt the way it is. I don't worry about my name. I guess they'll put my name on it if they want to. |
Thank You all for your help!!!! I guess i'm almost ready to send my quilts to QFKs. I hope I won't need any more help.
