I would like to purchase a small assortment of cloth labels that I can embroider on, to sew on to the back of my quilts when I give them as gifts. I have seen some with pretty colored borders, flowers, etc. and they come in different sizes. Have googled, looked in quilt magazines, etc., but cannot find a source to get these. Does anyone know where they are? Thanks loads.

Once in awhile I've found them in my LQS. However, size wise they usually don't fit what I want to say.

So far, I just use plain fabric, write on it with a permanent marker, and frame it up a little with some fabric with or without a block from the quilt.

Another option is to print them from your printer ... not an option for me as I don't have the right kind of printer!

Go to junetailor.com and then go to creative center. You will find several templates for labels. You do the text in your word processing program then copy and paste it into the label. I used the fabric sheets Printed Treasures I got from Joanns.

Make your own: http://www.spoonflower.com/spelunks?...+label&x=0&y=0 and have them printed.

some quilt shops carry quilt labels in yardage you can purchase- i have a book from joannes with iron on ones- there are a variety of designs, shapes and sizes with different things on them- you iron them onto your fabric- then fill in the lines with a permenent pen (like a micron pigma pen) they are permenent also. you can even iron them right onto the back of the quilt if you want to.

I got a yard of assorted labels thru Keepsake Quilting catalog for about $5.00 or you can make your own as others have mentioned

I use a mechanical pencil to gently write what I want on my labels then embroider over the pencil. Usually use a light fabric to give contrast to the letters. I guess a marker would also work. I like to do it this way because it makes it more personal. I am going to check out Keepsake Quilting.
