Ladies, I need your help!

I am making a memorial quilt for my niece-in-law who lost her son in Afghanistan in 2010. I need to know if any of you know of a pen that will show up on black fabric. I need to write something on the silhouette that I am putting on the quilt and don't know what I can use. PLEASE HELP!!

Have you looked for a fabric pen in silver ? Also at Joanns they have sets of Pigma pens they are suppose to stay on after you write then heat set it .

I purchased a Sharpie Metallic today in Silver... it says it is a permanent marker... I haven't tested it yet, but thought I would suggest it in case you might like to try it.

Sharpie pens are not permanent on fabric. I used one to draw eyes and whiskers on a applique quilt. When I washed it the marking smudged and faded. Make sure you use a permanent fabric pen. Michaels and AC Moore carries them.

I was going to say at michaels they have fabric pens for dark fabric. I've used the silver , gold and bronze.

Terry, do you want me to embroider on it (if you haven't already put it together that is)?

What about as white paint stick that's used for t-shirt design and such?

I would love that, but think the space is just too small. It is the crossbar on a cross and is approximately 3 3/8" x 1". I was thinking you could just make me a strip that size and I could applique it onto the cross, but think it's just too small.

use a white gelly roll pen. I've used this for years to write on dark fabrics without a problem. It is pigment and permanent.
