Lady of the Lake

Hi everyone, I am looking for quilting ideas for a Lady of Lake pattern quilt.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Here are some I have already rejected - 1. meander, 2. in the ditch, 3. outline.

I am thinking of a block pattern that would enhance the pieceing, but don't know
what.

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

Longarm

for those, like myself, who don't know the block, here is a link http://www.mccallsquilting.com/qb/pa...502/index.html
for the quilting design - how about some corner designs with one in each half square. here is a link to some stencils http://quiltingstencils.com/continuouslinecorners.aspx

I'm going to watch this one for ideas, too. I'm finishing up a Lady of the Lake BOM in a couple of months and I would like to figure out how to quilt mine, too. I'd like to use an era-appropriate pattern, as well.

This is the layout I'm thinking of, but it shows the Lady of the Lake block for people who might not know it by name. I would love to see what layout you're using, too. :)

That's interesting.... this block is different from the one I have. :) Which block is in your quilt, Longarm?

I like your idea of putting a corner design into each "half" of the large square - like a mirror image, right?

Gorgeous quilt ... I have never seen one with the squares on point ... wow!

about.com has the Lady of the Lake block and instructions on their website for several years. I would probably just do a large FMQ, mostly all I do.

Here's an example of how one person quilted a quilt that was partially made up of Lady of the Lake blocks. I think she did a beautiful job - http://www.kathykwylie.com/blog/2011...quilts-part-1/

Thanks for the McCalls link. Like you, I didn't know the block name either.

Thanks for the stencil link, I have it bookmarked as I am always looking for new hand quilting ideas.

Merry Christmas

corner feathers..rosebuds..leaf designs.. kind of depends on the colors and how much you want the quilting to show case the overall look! I am doing free hand designs ... resembles line drawing.. so much fun to draw and write with thread on a quilt...
