Lakehouse will be reprinting their Hydrangea & Raspberry fabric in two new colorways: a smoky light blue and a light pink, on a champagne background. In both of these, the leaves are a sort of khaki color... so they're both new twists on the popular blue & brown and pink & brown color combos. They're doing the antique scroll (background) in champagne, and have coordinating dots in blues and beiges and browns, plus a narrow stripe with the blue and khaki colors.
They've done this same print in a bunch of other colorways in the past, and they've let all of those go out of print. I'm trying to convince them to reprint the ivory colorway. That's the one with the plum purple and periwinkle shades, on a cream ground. Chime in, if you miss that one! (It was lovely and was my personal favorite. |
Ohhhh those all sound gorgeous :D :D :D

here is a link to the fabrics that come out in October - I am NOT advertising this website, it was just the first result that popped up with a google search!!! They are GORGEOUS!!! I just might have to order some! |
I sorted my budding stash by color tonight and found that I'd scored some of the Hydrangea & Raspberry fabric as a remnant at my LQS. it's beautiful, and I'll be using a sliver of it in my Log Cabin block in my sampler. Honestly, I'd rather have sheets and pillowcases from this fabric than quilting material.
If anyone wants to see the current versions of the fabric... http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...&aq=f&oq=&aqi= |
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the hydrangea print. This fabric is gorgeous. I have some of the periwinkle that I bought about 4 or so years ago. I'm planning to finally use it as my center block for the new international round robin swap. I'm working on a design concept this weekend. I have one smaller piece of the older line with the ivory background and agree it is lucious. I'll probably use it as an accent pillow. I think they would sell a lot of it if they put it out again.

eeek- I gave gave DD the purples- should I get them back?
I have the blues- they will eventually become my bedroom- curtains, bedskirt, shams and of course, quilt. I have some of the tiny purple flowers with a tan background, thought I got the cream background. I think I got like 3 or 4 yeards, it's still in the package. Just put it back in the tub of fabric. Don't know what I will do with it. |
Those sound so pretty.

And two nice companions.
Plus one picture of the powder pink colorway, for anyone who hasn't seen that yet. (There is an all-over blossom print in the pink, too.) (Let the drooling begin!) |

(It was lovely and was my personal favorite. I wish they would reprint that one in particular - I want to make a quilt for my room and the colors were perfect. I didn't get the fabric at the time because I had too many WIP's and UFO's, and payday was the next week. Just goes to show - if you like it, want it, then get it. Who knew they wouldn't reprint. That was real popular for it to be sold out so fast. We even called other shops around the state and they were out. |
I bookmarked this material! Beautiful!!

Check out "Fabric Freedom" prints out of England. They had a gorgeous pansy print and had some large block prints. But, alas, they are also sold out and hard to find. Did see the Lake House Hydrangea fabric for sale on eBay if anyone is still looking.
|
Those are nice, but I like the original collection on ivory better than the darker cream color, glad I purchased several yards last year. Hope you can get her to reprint the originals.
|
I'd love to get my hands on some of the ivory scroll., any idea where I could find some?
|
those colors are very nice thats the colors i want in my bed room when i get it done
|
CONSIDER IT CHIMED!!

If you want to see the new lines, you can here: http://www.eeschenck.com Anybody can browse their site, just choose "fabrics" and then scroll down to get to the "Fabric Freedom" section. In case any of you are wondering what happens "behind the scenes"... most fabrics are printed in China, South Korea or Japan these days. Schenck will have the Fabric Freedom ones shipped directly from the far east to their warehouses in CA and OR. And the bolts that are going to Fabric Freedom in England will just go on different boats, I suppose. What they are *not* going to do is print in the far east, ship it all to England and then send some of it back to the US. (That would be silly, wouldn't it?) Anyhow... if anybody wants to start a new topic and say what the best of the new Fabric Freedom lines are... I'm all ears!! |

An update on the schedule for the new colorways of the Lakehouse hydrangea & raspberry fabrics... the powder pink colorway, which was part of the Teatime Florals II collection, is supposed to be available in September. The mist & cloud blue colorway is not coming until January. (Too bad... I was hoping all of them would be out in fall!)
Anyway... I talked to Sam, the owner of Needlecraft (an east coast fabric distributor), and he is still trying to get Holly (owner of Lakehouse) to reprint 03007-ivory, the cream-periwinkle-purple colorway of the hydrangea and raspberry print (pictured below). The plan is that he and I will split a printing, giving each of us 500 yards to sell. He's pretty sure that Holly will reprint it (why wouldn't she?) but he wants to make sure that if it goes to print, the printing will be exclusively his and mine. Whew! Five hundred yards is not a lot for him to sell, but it sure seems so for me! But it's such a lovely color, I'm pretty sure that this will work out. It's the first time I've tried to "commission a printing". Kind of scary to the budget... you know, a lot of eggs in a single basket. Now... how's that for a behind-the-scenes look at the inside of the fabric industry? |
I have about 3/4 yard of the ivory -- enough for an accent pillow. I have a bit more of the periwinkle that I'm going to use for my center in the new round robin quilt. I've had them about 4 years, found them on the remnant table at Hancocks of Paducah. Love them. Let us know if the ivory gets reprinted.
|
It's definite... the ivory colorway is coming back!! Hooray!
I'm not sure when it will be coming... it will be at least two months, and that's on the optimistic side. More likely it won't be available until January. It all depends on the schedule of the overseas mill that does the printing. But the printing has been scheduled, so it's for sure that it will be coming. Yes!!! |
yeah!
