"Laminated" fabric...like a vinyl tablecloth??

I'm looking at the new Indigo Crossings fabrics for my next project. There are 3 fabrics in the line that are "coated." After a little research, I'm guessing that this is like a picnic tablecloth, and NOT what I want when quilting, correct? If so, I don't want to make a mistake and order any of the "C" numbered ones.
TIA!

not for a quilt, no. i've used some for making kids coloring books, totes, etc. but not quilts.

I bought some Moda vinyl coated fabric. It's very soft, flexible, and doesn't have that cold plastic feel like a table cloth. It was pricey but the quality of the coating was worth it. It sewed the same as all cotton fabric. I haven't tried Connecting Threads vinyl coated fabric and I read reviews that it was very nice.

I keep promising myself I will buy some of the Kaffe Fasset laminated for a funky rain coat.

I bought some of the coated fabric to make a beach blanket for my daughter in the San Juan Islands. I wanted to use the coating side for the sandy beach side of the blanket.

It is very soft and flexible. It's great for bibs and such.
