I have a Tin Lizzie QM. We have a love/hate relationship. But, I ordered new Groz-Beckert needles same exact one as always and when they arrived these new ones were titanium coated. I thought --GREAT--will last longer. They do not work well in my TL. I have skipped stitches over an inch long. Went back to the chrom plated needles and all is fine. I use 134, DP X 5, 135 X 5, 135 X 7, 797, sy 1955, G. Have only found them in Denmark and it will take 20 days to get themhere. Does anyone have a source for these that they could share. I only have 3 chrom ones left.

wow, that's sure a lot of numbers. the TL is popular here in the states... i'm surprised that it takes such a hard to find needle, good luck

Are these any help?

I now realize that it is not the titanium coating causing the skipped stitched but the style of the point. The older cases had either FFG or RG on them meaning either a pointed or rounded point respectively. My old needles had a pointed tip while the ones I ordered had a rounded tip. I am having problems because the cases no longer give a code for the point style. I would like titanium with a pointed tip and just can not find it.

IIRC, all the titanium needles have a rounded tip - I don't think pointed-tip titanium longarm needles even exist. There was some debate on this over on the APQS message board.

Well that would sure explain why I can't find them. But for my machine the sharp tips are a must.

this is soooo close. But when ALL of the codes do not match exactly I cannot be sure. That is how I ended up with the rounded point needle instead of the sharp one. The numbers were very, very close but not exact.
