While some of you are looking around different fabric shops on the Internet have any of you seen a Large Santa Block material. I am wanting to make a Christmas Quilt next year and want to use a Santa block about 16x16 or 18x18. in the center. This size could vary. I have looked at all the fabric stores in my area and cannot find one. Found some on E-Bay but none was as large as I am looking for. Any help you may give will be appreciated.
Thanks
Beth

I'm a little lost. Do you mean fabric with a picture square of Santa or pattern for a santa block?

I'll keep an eye out for ya Beth, Haven't seen one, but ya never know... Hows your sister? When are ya going to post some more of your quilts? Or have your daughters talked you out of them?

Sorry for not making my self clear. I am wanting a large Santa printed on fabric that I can use in the center of a quilt. Then I will fill in around it with 4 1/2 blocks from different Christmas material

if you can't find the pre-printed fabric, here's a link to an applique pattern that could probably be sized to fit your needs. it's for a tree-skirt, but i'm sure could be adapted since it's four individual santa blocks.

Beth
Do you have a Walmart around you? One that is still selling fabric? I'm just suggesting, because at our Wally World, they often carry large panels for Holidays and such, for vests and various craft items to make. Just a thought,

Yes we have one.... went last Thursday and had none. Did not ask anyone in the fabric dept....will go back and be sure to ask.
Thanks for your suggestion.

Beth, did a little checking on ebay. You might want to check there too. I put in fabric, then cotton then Santa and came up with 12 pages, and I checked about 5 pages, anyway here are three I found that may help. The first one is to make a santa head and is 27 inches. I think you might be able to use it, but there are a couple more to I am listing. But check the rest of the pages. You may find something. :D

These are the item numbers. You should be able to put them in the search box and bring the santa's right up. Hope this helps. I had no luck with the hop finding Santa's!

Beth. Your Santa panel is in the mail as we speak. Hope you can use it. Marge

SewSew2 11-21-2007 06:20 AM

Marge thanks for the Santa....could not find anything at Hancock, was told they were already out.

Marge you have saved the day....what a thoughtful person you are for not only giving me a panel but mailing it too me.

When I wrote and asked if anyone one knew where to find one I was shocked at the response I received. What a thoughtful group of people you are.
If and when I make the Christmas quilt I will post it for all to see.

Thanks Marge for providing the center panel for a Christmas quilt to be made....see me smiling from Texas.

If you want to piece your santa I got a book at my quilting circle Christmas party called Holiday Happenings by Christal Carter that has a very cute Santa face. it is a 20 x 20 inch square, but could be made smaller by making smaller squares. The squares use to make it are courthouse stairs, and log cabin blocks. Nikki

Patty thank you for the link even though you sent it to Beth. I have been looking for a Santa face to appilque. This one is very cute. Thanks again. Nikki
