I have the book and some of the fabric...but the fabric & thread is soooooo expensive. It will probably take me another six months to collect all the fabric and then I'll be ready, so, I figure I'll probably start it next summer. It will make a great summer project, embroidering the blocks.

I made one, and it was the first embroidery project I did on my Bernina 440. I'd say that I learned everything I know about embroidery from doing it, especially how to retrieve designs gone wrong! Because mine is a 5.5mm machine and not a 9mm Artista it doesn't look quite the same but I am pleased with how it turned out.

I've seen them done in cottons and would choose to do that if I ever make another one.

I want to do the real thing, but I'm of doing one on cotton first.
I have been reading a lot about the quilt as you go method, maybe I could get it finnished. I have so many q-tops. I perfer to peice the tops than quilt. How did you quilt yours?

I made it. It was a fun pattern to do. I did mine in cotton as I am not about to spend the money to buy dupioni silk.
