Walk in the city quilt pattern by Elisa's Backporch Design

There is a nice pattern from Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Store that uses a layer cake. It is very fun to make-it is a pinwheel and made so easily. I have made a few blocks with Christmas fabric. I think you may like it. Good Luck. Can't remember the full name of the block but Jenny has so many tutorials that are fun to make.

I made double-sliced layer cake a couple of years ago. Easy pattern and fun to construct.

Remember, you can cut a layer in quarters and end up with a charm pack! So look at those patterns too!

I used a layer cake to make a pinwheel quilt.

Big Star quilt from Missouri Star Quilt Co. makes a very nice quilt.

I would check out MSQC newest quilt pattern video called Illusion. I have it on my TO DO list.

Thankyou for all your replies, will have a look.

I agree with Dolphyngyrl. I think you'l need two layer cakes for those. I just ordered a white layer cake to make a Disappearing Hourglass memory quilt in scraps from my nieces's clothes for her daughter.

Google layer cake quilts and you will have some fun, :)

If you have the "Big Block" book you can make over 200 different quilts using layer cakes. I use it all the time for my donation quilts and they are very quick to put together - like 1-2 days.

I second the Big Star Quilt pattern (tutorial by Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company on Youtube). I didn't use a layer cake for mine but all the squares for the big stars are 10" and it's super easy to put together.
