I could use some ideas...I'm ready to layer and baste my 6 1/2 ft X 8ft quilt and really don't want to get down on the floor to do this. Would it work to have it on the dinning room table and pin baste from the center out until I run out of table then move it to do the sides? Or is this looking for trouble with puckering? Thanks for the input!

Table will work also, smooth as you go and tighten up the bottom as needed. Happy Quilting :)

I use a couple of folding tables when I baste... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-91013-1.htm

I've tried it because I have limited space and it worked for me.

WOW! Thanks for the link - I'm so visual, that really helped. I knew there had to be a way. I've been pinning but never can get it flat enough. I think I move things as I pin. I'll try this.
