I won a jelly roll at a retreat.... after reading all the patterns I realized mine was ½ the size of the "going" jelly rolls. Hope you found a pattern for what you have.... mine is sitting in the scrap box at the moment.

I used it to make a lap quilt i found the pattern on here but cant remember who posted it. It is the one where you saw all the strips together and cut. I posted the pic on the picture site.

The same is true of charm packs.

Try this one from the Moda Bake Shop. It's called Welcome Spring and takes 17 strips.

I just finished piecing the top and it was quick and easy. It was so much fun I'll probably make one or two more.

What you have is a "honey bun". They are like a jelly roll but are only 1.5inches wide.

I learned that lesson when I bought a jelly roll from Ebay. Now when I buy jelly rolls, I only buy the Moda ones.

Do you mean it did not have 40 pieces of fabric in it? True Jelly Rolls are made by Moda and are 2 1/2" strips of fabric, with 40 (usually different) fabrics in the pack. Occasionally, the line of fabric won't have 40 different prints/colorways and some of them will be doubled up.

However, several people/quilt stores have usurped the term "jelly roll" to mean any related set of 2 1/2" strips of fabric - not necessarily unique, not necessarily 40 in the pack, not necessarily all from the same line, and so on. So always check the description.

I bought one and that is all it took for me to READ what I am buying.
