I won a jelly roll at a retreat.... after reading all the patterns I realized mine was ½ the size of the "going" jelly rolls. Hope you found a pattern for what you have.... mine is sitting in the scrap box at the moment.

I used it to make a lap quilt i found the pattern on here but cant remember who posted it. It is the one where you saw all the strips together and cut. I posted the pic on the picture site.

The same is true of charm packs.

Try this one from the Moda Bake Shop. It's called Welcome Spring and takes 17 strips.
http://www.modabakeshop.com/2010/04/welcome-spring.html I just finished piecing the top and it was quick and easy. It was so much fun I'll probably make one or two more. |

I learned that lesson when I bought a jelly roll from Ebay. Now when I buy jelly rolls, I only buy the Moda ones.

Do you mean it did not have 40 pieces of fabric in it? True Jelly Rolls are made by Moda and are 2 1/2" strips of fabric, with 40 (usually different) fabrics in the pack. Occasionally, the line of fabric won't have 40 different prints/colorways and some of them will be doubled up.
However, several people/quilt stores have usurped the term "jelly roll" to mean any related set of 2 1/2" strips of fabric - not necessarily unique, not necessarily 40 in the pack, not necessarily all from the same line, and so on. So always check the description. |
I bought one and that is all it took for me to READ what I am buying.
