That was the time to try BIZ. It is a bleach, but not a chlorine bleach. It gets out stains but doesn't fade colors.

I also learned about kits. I bought one from Craftsy and a lot of fabric was missing. They promptly sent me another one but there was still fabric missing. I gave up after the second one. I'll just fill in with my own.
I ended up with a lot of fabric but still it kind of bugged me.

We've found this also applies to produce--so many of the tomatoes, etc have little stickies on them now and they are placed on the bruise or imperfection.
I also have the habit of not opening packages right away--give them a day or a few--good advice to open right away.

For successful grease removal Dawn dish detergent has always worked well for me. Straight Dawn, let it sit, then brush the stain. Here's hoping that your stain will come out...

My sister showed me a trick for getting diesel fuel out of fabric. Since you have “mystery grease, give it a try? She buys Crest brand toothpaste (must be the all white paste). With an old denture or tooth brush, or even a stiff nail brush scrub the toothpaste into the stain from both sides, and about 1/2 “ around the outside of the stain as well. Let set for ten minutes then rinse under hot running water, and machine wash with laundry soap. An old truck driver showed her that trick. It is worth a try.....? You can try it several times, but remember, no dryer until the stain is completely gone. Might just save the fabric. ( I watched her take diesel fuel and grease out of Khaki colored shorts of her hubby’s so I know it can work)
