Library quilt
I want to make a library quilt. I see some patterns have a selvedge strip on what would be a book spine to make it look like a title. I do have a few selvedge strips I can use. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to sew these on? Any suggestions as to where I can buy more? I checked eBay and no luck.

We have some people here on the boards who do fantastic things with selvedges.
One of whom I sent out my latest collection of trims so I don't have anything currently available, hopefully someone else here will have some they can share. Here's a tutorial on the board: https://www.quiltingboard.com/tutori...s-t274700.html |

Either as a normal seam or topstitching. To get more ........ buy more fabric! :) |

Wouldn't you just sew them into the book spine?

here's another tutorial....almost the same:

I save all my printed selvages by cutting 1.5" off. I save them in a bag for future projects. I don't save the other side - just throw those away.
To make the book title or spine, take the 1.5" piece, cut to size (include a seam allowance) and iron it in half, wrong sides facing. Then just topstitch. |
Thanks for the suggestions and the tutorials. They are great.

When I made my bookcase quilt, I purchased a few fabrics that had words in the print pattern of the fabric, and mixed them in. An idea as an option to using selvages.
