So what do you do when you make something to sell with a licensed fabric? Are you not allowed to use that for anything except personal use? I have a lady that wants a bow tuck made from a particular fabric, but the selvages say "Licensed and all that stuff". So I wasn't sure if I could make the bag for her. I thought of telling her that I will sell her my card for 'dollars' and I will give her the bag it is attached to. Would that work?

You bought the fabric, so I would think that you can use it however you would like
The licensing is to let you know it is authentic and the copyright is to keep you from duplicating the fabric :D:D:D |
I just did a search and found this article to read
http://www.quiltingbusiness.com/quilting-copyright.htm |
I sell things at craft shows and will NOT use licensed fabrics...It is even stated on some of the contracts that I have to sign that I will not sell things that are licensed...
I don't know what to tell you to do...if you are only doing one, and it is for a friend(???) I don't think you would have a problem, but...... |
Some fabrics even have it written on the salvage that it is for personal use only. And that is even on some fabrics that aren't licensed!
|
Licensed fabric has a disclaimer on the edge  LOL
|
Couldn't you have her buy the fabric, and she pays you for your service?
|
Well, I already bought the fabric, but I guess I could have her pay me for that and then charge for the labor.

Cut the selvage off.
LOL LOL LOL |
This was something I never thought of. hummmmmm
