Is there a pattern using the Lil Twister to make a pumpkin wall hanging? Found the wreath and tree but would like to do a pumpkin. Thanks.

I just looked all over the web and I can't find one either. Maybe it's time for you to make one and the pattern and tutorial.

Sounds cute - I would think it's all in the layout. If you don't find one, what about using paper to mock one up first... get your pattern from there.

I seen a pumpkin one at the quilt show, you could just design one

Welcome to the board from Southern California!

Do the wreath pattern but exclude the white/cream in the center. Just use oranges. Then a green one on the top.

Oh, and welcome to the board!

patacake 10-04-2011 09:07 PM

Great Idea. I'll give that a try. And thanks for the welcome greetings.

I think you will find this a fun place to be!

Agree sounds cute ... the twister would be a natural snowflake!

Would you share the layouts?
Please? and Thanks!

i've been playing with my eq and came up with this design. what do you think?

patacake 10-05-2011 08:40 AM

I think that is great. Is there a way to make the top and bottom right and left sides a little rounder? Is it possible to make half orange/half white twister blocks. I haven't used eq in about a year but if it is possible to send the file to me I can also play with it and see what we can both come up with. If not, I like the pic you sent and can use that one. Thanks for all your time and help. I appreciate it so much. Pat

this pumpkin is already and 10x10 layout. i'm sure if you made it more blocks, you could make it look rounder. i've not done a twister yet, but i see on the qb that they are labor intensive, so that is why i kept the layout smaller.

patacake 10-05-2011 09:48 AM

I like the smaller layout so that is what I will do. I really appreciate your help. I made the wreath and it wasn't very labor intensive. Took me about 4 hours stopping and starting to do other things. Again, thanks for the help. Pat

Hopefully I can gather orange and black fabrics and try one over the weekend but you know the old saying "the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray". But my intentions are good and that has to count for something--at least I hope so. :-)
